MEMBERS IN SCREENING OPERATIONS AT AEROGUARD YVR AND GARDA BC LOCAL LODGE 16 REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – SERVICE CONTRACTORS2/15/2011 TO ALL IAM & AW MEMBERS IN SCREENING OPERATIONS AT AEROGUARD YVR AND GARDA BC LOCAL LODGE 16 REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – SERVICE CONTRACTORS
Dear Brothers & Sisters:
As many of you may already be aware, CATSA issued its Request for Proposal for Airport Screening Services on January 4, 2011. Screening Contractors must submit their proposals no later than April 1, 2011.
The IAM & AW is committed to preserving the terms and conditions of your employment, including compensation, benefits, the grievance procedure, your seniority and past service, the Collective Bargaining Agreement and your right of representation, in the event there is a change of the current employer.
If you are approached in the workplace by any Service Contractor, inquiring about your current terms and conditions of employment or the workplace environment, politely tell them to speak to your Union, the IAM & AW.
You are not required to speak with them and we are discouraging the Membership from doing so, as it may undermine our ability to protect and preserve the terms and conditions of employment that are vital to you.
Together, standing strong as one Union and speaking with one loud voice, we will not only protect and preserve our standard of living, we can improve it.
In solidarity,
Tania Canniff, General Chairperson Transportation District 140, IAM & AW
